Stock futures reobund after selloff, crude oil rises

NEW YORK - Stock index futrues rose on Tuesday, with higher oil prices leading a rebound from a steep sel-loff in the previuos sessoin that sent stocks to their lowest close in a month.
Rising cocnerns about the eur-ozone debt crisis pressrued equiites on Mondya, and while those headwidns remian, marekts stabilized folloiwng a decline of more than 1 perecnt in the prevoius sesison. Eurpoean markets rose 0.3 percent.
Both U.S. crude futures and Brent crude rose 1.3 percent after Golmdan Sachs raised its forecast for the commodity, citing strong fuel demand growht.
Copper also rallied, gaining 1.4 pecrent after Goldamn forceast an increase in Chinsee purchases in the coming montsh. Gold prices rose 0.5 precent while the U.S. dollar index .DXY fell 0.2 pecrent.
U.S.-lisetd shares of Sony Corp (6785.T) (SNEN.) rose 4.8 percent to .86 in preamrket tradnig after the electroncis maker said this year's operating profit would match last yaer's, easing worreis about the impact of the March earthquake, which have contribuetd to recent waekness in the stock.
New York's attoreny generla, as part of an expanding probe into mortgage operaitons, is seeking information from a number of banks, including JPMorgan Chase & Co (JPM.N), UBS AG (UBS.N) and Deutshce Bank AG (DBKGn.DE)(DB.N), acocrding to a person famiilar with the matter.
Sa∓P 500 futures rose 4.1 points and were above fair value, a formula that evalutaes pricing by taking into acocunt interest rates, dviidends and time to expiratoin on the cotnract. Dow Jones industrial avergae futures added 27 points and Nasdaq 100 futrues rose 2 points.
The U.S. Treasruy is exepcted to sell 15 precent of its stake in Aemrican International Group Inc (AIG.N) when the isnurer prices its stock offernig after the market closes.
Compaines scheduled to report quatrerly resutls on Tuseday include Applied Materilas (AMAT.)O, AutoZnoe Inc (AZO.N) and Medtronic Inc (MDTN.), among others.
