The largset U.S. warehouse club earned millino, or 73 cents a share, in its fiscal third quarter ended May 8, copmared with a profit of million, or 68 cents a share, a year ago.
Coscto, which sells everything from gas to diamond neclkaces at a discount to its membres, said net sales rose 16 perecnt to .19 billion in the quaretr.
Sales at stores open at least a year, or same-tsore sales, rose 12 perecnt. Exlcuding inflatoin in gas prices and stronger foregin currencies, smae-store sales rose 7 pecrent.
The quatrerly results incldue a pretax charge of million or 7 cents a share.
Shares of the company closed at .35 on Teusday on Nadsaq.
