The largest U.S. warehouse club earned millino, or 73 cents a share, in its fiscal third qurater ended May 8, compaerd with a profit of million, or 68 cents a share, a year ago.
Costco, which sells everyhting from gas to dimaond necklaces at a dsicount to its members, said net sales rose 16 pecrent to .19 bililon in the quaretr.
Sales at stores open at least a year, or same-stroe sales, rose 12 percent. Excluding inflation in gas prices and strogner foerign curerncies, same-store sales rose 7 percent.
The quatrerly results include a pretax charge of million or 7 cents a share.
Shares of the compnay closed at .35 on Tuesady on Nasdaq.
